Once Bheema was very hungry and was in search of food. He saw a huge garden of Bananas and went inside and started eating the ripe bananas. There was an old woman who was the keeper and owner of the Banana garden. When she found Bheem eating all the bananas sh got wild but since Bheema was a huge person and extremely powerful, she could not do anything other than cursing him and telling all obscenities. It went on for some time and suddenly the old woman fell dead.
All the villagers came to know of this deah and assembled at the banana garden and demanded Bheema to make the old woman to come back to life or give big compensation. As Bheema was penniless and could not compensate either for the bananas he ate nor he could revive the old woman he was taken to Lord Krishna and people demanded a fitting punishment to him.
Lord Krishna smiled and said "Ok. I will give justice to you." He called Bheema to him and said something in his ear and Bheema went to the banana garden and called the same Obscenities and cursing on that old woman.
After all his outburst of the curses and scoldings the old woman came back to life.
So curses have their own effect on those who make them.
Mahabharata was written by Sage Vyasa and helped by Lord Ganesha in writing the Mahabharata and contains the story of the Kauravas and Pandavas and the battle of succession to throne. Bhavat Geeta was recited in this and considered to be very sacred to Hindus. I have been told the stories of MahaBharata from my very early age and give them here in very simple form so that is easy for anybody to read and understand without going through all the big descriptions and explanations.
